摘要

According to the features of the railway construction project and the spirit of the sustainable development, this paper intends to expatiate on four major principles of the sustainable development of railway construction project, namely the sustainability, expansibility, compatibility and equality. Via an analysis of the sustainability issues of railway construction project in environmental, social and economic aspects in China, the paper highlights both the short-term and the long-term requirements of the sustainable development on the railway construction project, and thereby advances five pertinent proposals. The proposals are as follows: 1. Establishing the conception of sustainable development in railway construction project management. 2. Initiating and improving the examination system on assessing sustainable development of railway construction project. 3. Augmenting the coordination and management bodies of the railway construction project. 4. Inaugurating the coordination mechanism with a well defined power and responsibility for railway construction. 5. Improving the public participating mechanism in the railway construction project.
