Discuss salt-bath vanadinizing process for steel 45. By using Analytical Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Analyzer(EDXA), Micro-hardness tester, Wear and abrasion test machine, observe and measure the vanadinizing coating micro-structure, the coating thickness, the hardness distribution along hardening depth, relative frictional resistance. The results show the surface of steel 45 is strengthened apparently through vanadinizing process, and the coating is essentially compact and uniform, having high micro-hardness and good frictional resistance.
