摘要

INCA is a commercial group that during the last two years have developed a complete product program for environmentally friendly and halogen free fire- and flame-retardants based on Expandable Graphite (EG). Even if EG based flame retardants has been known for at least 20 years it has not, until now, been studied systematically nor commercialised in a broader field. INCA AB has focused on not just to replace existing flame retardants but also to give our customers value-added and a competitive advantage to their products by using INCAs EG based product concept. At the end of this document the practical consequences and effects by using a low heat release rate material as INCAs EG based FR products compared to traditionally used FR systems are illustrated. The comparison is done in a computer simulated automobile fire and the results shows that the abandon time will increase with about 20 ～ 30%!
