Shangtang station is located in tidal current boundary. Water flow variation is a complicated unstable variability system owning to the combination affects from upriver flood and downriver tidewater. This paper put forward a simple and practical approach for tide level forecast according to water current change characteristics. By analyzing the associated influences between upriver floodwater from Shizhu station and downriver tidewater from Wenzhou station, it studied a new separated water level model to Shangtang's tidal prediction by calculating two kinds of water level individually and then combined into tidewater level in the station. Comparing the tidal levels between predicted and practical values in 32 historical floods, the qualification ratios of predicted tidal level reached class B. It indicated that the approach was effective and the model could be applied in task prediction.
