The authors are conducting an investigation into the effects of sound on the bubbling properties of a fluidized bed with fine powders. Results are presented on the effects of sound frequency, sound pressure level, and excess gas velocity on minimum bubbling velocity and bubble frequency. Data are also presented showing the combined effects of sound and superficial gas velocity on solids mixing and segregation.
