Drastic reduction of no_x and N_2O emissions from bfbc of coal by means of CO_2/O_2 combustion: effects of flue gas recycle and coal type
In coal combustion with an atmospheric bubbling fluidized-bed, net fuel-N conversions into NO_X and N_2O were reduced by recycling flue gas as low as 1/4 to 1/9 of those in a conventional air combustion depending on coal type. The reduced emissions for different coals were systematically explained by assuming simultaneous and independent occurrence of in-bed reduction of the nitrogen oxides recycled and suppressed NO_x formation accompanied with increased CO_2 and H_2O concentrations by the recycling.
