Although the modelling of forest fire spread has made considerable progress overrnthe last ten years, however there remains a lack of reliable experimental results considering thernfuel mass loss and there is no study in spreading conditions. One of the difficulties encounteredrnwhen measuring mass and temperature of a sample subjected to an approaching flame is the rapidityrnof the phenomena. During a wildland fire, the heating rate and mass loss rate are veryrnhigh, that’s the reason why experimental devices close to reality must be developed. In a firstrnstep, the thermal analysis using a thermogravimetric apparatus allowed to elucidate the thermalrndegradation of the fuel, in a second step, the experimental device allowed to measure the massrnloss and temperature of a sample during the spread.
