Organic pigment, such as phthalocyanine, and organic dyes, such as acridine orange, acridine yellow, rose bengal, rhodamine B, and fluorescein, were incorporated into a low melting P2O5-SnF2-PbF2 glass with the conventional melting and quenching technique. The difference of solubility of the dyes in the glass was examined by comparing the absorbance. It was found that the dyes were soluble in the glass, but pigment was not. Acridine orange having the highest solubility dissolved up to about 5×10~(-6)mol/cm~3.
