I am deeply honored to deliver the keynote address at this Fourth Asian Fisheries Forum in Beijing. The tasks as requrested by the Society to highlight issues on sustainable fisheries and interactions among technology, people and the environment, is a real challenge, However, recent developments in the world fisheries, many by UN initiatives, and the need to foster interaction and cooperation among all parties ocncerned are more demanding. I therefore wish to share my thoughts with you at this opportunity.
