Direct numerical simulation results are presened adn discussed for flow and heat transfer in a2D plane channel with square ribs on one of the wells. They were obtained with the finite differnce/finite element code PEGASE which solves the full unsteady compressible Navier-Stokes equation. Vortices are generated by the ribs and enhance heat transfer.
