A unique Remote Surveillance System (RSS) that utilizes the latest cellular technology for wireless data transmission has been developed by EnerFuel, Inc. When placed anywhere in the world the system is capable of transmitting images along with their GPS coordinates wirelessly by using the local cellular phone network. Users can access real-time pictures and archived pictures through the internet interface designed by EnerFuel. The RSS system can operate in the field for prolonged periods of time without maintenance due to its hybrid power system composed of PEM fuel cell system, lithium ion batteries and a solar panel (optional). The key elements for long run time are the hydrogen content of the RSS that is in order of 7kWh, high efficiency fuel cell, and electronics with low power consumption. High energy content, low weight, and convenient packaging make the RSS portable and well suited for long-term monitoring missions.
