Comparison studies of C_(60) fluorination with solid binary (MeF_n) or complex (M_kMeF_n) metal fluorides and with elemental fluorine under low-pressure conditions was conducted by means of electron impact mass spectrometry, using Knudsen cell as a reactor. All the reactions are accompanied by distillation of the volatile products C_(60)F_(2m). The results are discussed in the framework of the developed kinetic model, offering an explanation of the observed facts. The reasons and conditions for selectivity have been recognized.
