摘要

Quantum chemistry calculations have been carried out to determine the geometries and energies of various carbon nanotube defect sites generated by removal of a single sidewall carbon atom. In some caes, the defect sites have been stablized by chemisorption of water molecules or addition of-OH, -H and =O groups.
