摘要

Recently, a new soil-water characteristic curve model for unsaturated soils was proposed based on a fractal model for the soil pore surface. The air-entry value and the surface fractal dimension of soil pores were used to determine the soil-water characteristic curve in this new fractal-based soil-water characteristic curve model. The experimental results found from literature can testify the new model. The new experiment on unsaturated loess is conducted to compare with the new model. The soil-water characteristic curve drawn with experiment data is in satisfactory agreement with the curve predicted by the new model.
