摘要

EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) is a kind of light fill material for subgrade with good performance. For its advantages of super light, self-supporting and simple construction, EPS could solve preferably some problems such as excessive settlement of filling embankment, nonuniform settlement between bridge abutment and embankment and so on. By far many researchers studied mostly on static mechanical properties of EPS. Yet EPS in engineering withstand mostly dynamic load, such as the traveling load of vehicle. So it is necessary to study the mechanical properties of EPS under dynamic load. In this paper, the law of EPS's stress-strain relationship and modulus under the different loading frequency, different number of cyclic load application and confining pressure are studied through dynamic triaxial shear test. The results can provide the theoretical basis for the engineering application of EPS.
