This article describes the theory of operation for the Scuderi Air Hybrid engine and provides an overview of earlier split-cycle engine designs and associated drawbacks. Proprietary features of the Scuderi engine design that resolve earlier split-cycle engine shortcomings are described. The paper also explains the benefits of the Scuderi Air Hybrid engine design over conventional combustion engines, including improved fuel efficiency and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
