Has rising gasoline and diesel prices impacted your bottom line? Have you ever wondered how can I break my addiction and reliance on foreign oil? Are you concerned about future fuel pricing, supply and stability? Have you wanted to improve your fleet's carbon footprint and make a positive contribution towards the environment? Natural gas powered vehicles are a commercially available and viable alternative to traditional diesel and gasoline vehicles. In this session, Gregory Woloszczuk will provide an overview of the benefits and applicability of natural gas vehicles. He will also provide an update of DTE Energy's past and present implementation of NGVs and fueling stations into its own fleet and territory. Natural gas powered vehicles are not a new technology. However, due to recent economic influences on crude oil and natural gas prices, coupled with national and regional environmental concerns, natural gas vehicles are on the forefront of fleet managers', business customers', regulators' and legislators' minds. With the recent discovery and economic production of large gas shale deposits in the United States, current and projected domestic natural gas supplies have increased significantly thereby providing supply security and price stabilization. Natural gas is the simplest of the carbon based fossil fuels and provides for reduced greenhouse gas emissions as compared to other fuels.
