Mineral fillers are well known in the polymer industry offering a wide spectrum of features. During the past the idea of using mineral fillers was based on achieving cost reduction. Improvement in production technology of minerals and intensive research showed a big range of opportunities to reach new performance profiles with standard polymers.rnFollowing the trend of micronization and tailor made product design for high performance materials Kaerntner Montanindustrie has developed during the last years a new type of high performance mineral fillers to realize new combinations of properties in mineral filled polymers. Together with machine producers and scientific institutes we successfully created innovative, technologically advanced MIOX? - an absolute new Micaceous Iron Oxide filler for polymers.rnThis presentation will high light the outstanding performance and unique property profile of MIOX? filled polymer matrices based on results of scientific research. MIOX? opens up new possibilities to combine high impact strength, increased thermal conductivity, sound dampening with excellent optical properties and other features.
