摘要

In this work, the strength and toughness of SiC-based and SiC-containing composites are increased through several effective ways: in-situ strengthening by pillar-like grains, particle reinforcement by solid solution, surface modification by HIP-N_2 treatment, and macro- and micro-structural control via lamination or orientation. Some interesting results are given, and some new design concept and processing techniques are expected to be developed in the future.
