摘要

This paper presents the shear behaviors of single-lap four-pin 2D C/SiC joints (pin joint) at room temperature. The load distribution among four pins was indicated by the strains on the top of each pin and it was proved to be a good method to characterize load distribution in symmetrical pin joints. Infrared thermograph showed the nonuniform load distribution among four pins was caused by matrix damage around holes. The average shear strength per pin was 113MPa approaching the in-plane shear strength of 2D C/SiC (125MPa). The shear test curves showed delay in load take-up because of microvoids in the pin/hole interfaces and pins. Microstructural observations showed that shear rupture of fiber tows was the main failure morphology of pin joint.
