Abstract: The criterion combining the information capacity and the average time of selection is suggested for potential possibilities of various memory devices to be compared with each other. It has been shown that according to this criterion a HMD has some advantages compared to the other memory devices due to two-step addressing. The optimization of HMD because of the right selection of hologram number correlation in a memory device has been noted to be possible. !3
