Since 2001, Norconsult has used micro ROVs for inspections of tunnels, gates andrndams. It provides accessibility and camera angles that few other inspection platformsrncan. Dams, gates and tunnels have been inspected where neither divers nor industrialrnROVs could be used; divers due to obvious safety reasons and industrial ROVsrnbecause of access limitations. This summary of 7 years of operating experiencernincludes examples; monitoring the lowering of stop logs in front of a jammed, partiallyrnopen gate and sonar profiling of tunnels for rock fall, and surveying.
