In addition to the time-honored printed catalogs, many different electronic informationrnsources have become available for the procurement of chemicals. Examples are Web catalogsrnof individual suppliers, specialized search engines such as eMolecules, and well-establishedrncatalog databases such as ACD (Available Chemicals Directory), Chem Sources, orrnCHEMCATS. This manifold of sources is complicated due to a variety of different interfaces,rnproviders, and database versions. We present an overview on important sources and therncorresponding interfaces, their availability, and the meta information provided. Finally, searchrnresults for some examples by using major sources are compared.
