摘要

Metal particles appear in interelectrode space of gas insulation as a consequence of manufacturing processes or due to exploitation. This type of particles can lead to isolation weakness and to cause undesirable breakdown of insulating system. The aim of this paper is to investigate, theoretically, numerically and experimentally, the influence of particles' number, shape, size and position on dc breakdown voltage of the system insulated by SF6 gas. For that purpose, the numerical program that calculate the breakdown voltage of system insulated with SF6 gas will be developed, under the assumption of conducting particle presence with defined shape. Parameters will be: the electrode shape, interelectorde distance, metal particle shape and metal particle position. Results obtained by calculation will be experimentally verified under well defined laboratory conditions. Based on well known electrical discharge mechanisms, numerical calculations and experiments preformed within the paper, the effects of metal particles in the intereledrode space will be established as well as their importance in engineering practice.
