Second generation current conveyors have, since their formulationnby Sedra and Smith in 1970, proved to be functionally flexible andnversatile, rapidly gaining acceptance as both theoretical and practicalnbuilding blocks in a wide range of applications from immittancenconvertors through to active filter synthesis. That current conveyorsnmay be used as voltage amplifiers is also well known, but has in thenpast only rarely been of practical significance due to the relativelynpoor performance of conveyor realisations compared to standard voltagenoperational amplifiers (VOA). However, with the introduction by Wilsonnin 1984 of a new conveyor implementation their performance can nownchallenge, and often exceed, standard VOAs in many applications
