A distance educational experiment (the NI.T seminar) was completed in May 2000, using integrated IP-based video-on-demand and videoconferencing in cyber-cafes in three Norwegian cities. The objective has been to teach Telenor's engineers elementary and advanced internet and optical technology to be used in transport and access networks. A special infrastructure has been built for the purpose, connected to a university test network. After finishing the theoretical part, participants take part in real test work, directly applying the theory they have learned in the course.
