Our experience show that image logs, particularly those calibrated against core data, make a significant contribution to understanding reservoir architecture, processes in the depositional environment, and production flow parameters. This understanding is only attained through a thorough analysis of the images following sound sedimentological principles, which requires the skills of an experienced sedimentologists. Interpretation limits are thus realised by using sedimentologists as image interpreters, and not image interpreters as sedimentologists.
