摘要

The information society has allowed the application of ICT to be generalised, bringing changes in the way individuals relate to each other, in the way they work and in the way they manage organisations. At the same time, increasing economic globalisation has made markets increasingly competitive, unstable and constantly changing. To meet these challenges in today's economies, the growing importance of intangible and non-material factors in the development of competitive advantage in organisations and regions is manifest. Intangible assets, such as the knowledge, the information, the creativity and the skills of workers, the brands of products and services, client satisfaction, marketing and quality, today comprise the principal production factors of organisations.
