The application of Japanese methods of management has become arnpreoccupation across many sectors of British industry.rnIn particular, quality management and human resource managementrnare areas for concern amongst managers implementing Japanesernphilosophies and techniques.rnThis paper considers the impact of Japanization on Britishrnmanagement, with special reference to these areas, while alsornindicating changes in financial management practices that flowrnfrom 'Japanization'. A case study of a firm seeking tornimplement new techniques is given.rnThe significance of these developments for the evolution ofrnappropriate management information systems is then assessed.
