The EL/L-8273/4 is a long range, multi-role, passive multi-spectral Infrared Search and Track system for airborne and naval applications. The system is designed to assist tactical operations by supporting the platform's self defense system and by backing up collision avoidance in radio silence navigation. We describe the main features of this new 360 degrees coverage IRST design.
