This paper seeks to explain the thinking behind the decision to develop an INCOSE Guide to the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK). You will learn; how the concept was conceived; how the requirements were determined; what the process for development and delivery will be; where there are similar initiatives that will add to the benefit; and how it may be used by a variety of user types. The guide will meet their needs whether the user is looking for detailed information complete with hyperlinks to the major contributing documents or is just seeking a basic understanding of what systems engineering is all about.
