Government and commercial organizations have realized that system architectures (complex large-scale systems of systems) are critical to their future success. Architecting involves many decision-makers and stakeholders; significant future uncertainties; and complex value trade-offs. System architects, systems engineers, and systems analysts must develop and use objective, credible, and traceable methodologies to create high value future architectures. This paper provides a process to develop a system architecting methodology to meet this need.
