At present, procedures on grading of quality assurance measures for nuclear facilities get an increasingimportance at national and international level to enhance the safety of the operating plants and to determineappropriate maintenance and testing activities. In this paper, the German quality assurance approaches for gradingsystems and components in nuclear power plants and radioactive waste repositories are described and compared withrecent proposals based on discussions of experts published by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
