Elastic-plastic finite element analysis (FEA) has been carried out toevaluate the strain over a specimen subjected to a simple tension test.Contrary to the prevailing belief that the distribution of strain beuniform in the specimen, it has been discovered that uniformity ofstrain fades out according to the decrease in the work-hardening ratio ofthe material, and the measured strain has a considerable amount oferror. For a precise measurement of strain, it is essential to select themeasurement device. In order to verify the validity of numericalanalysis, a simple tension test has been carried out.
