Dynamic Response Evaluations of Offshore Platform with Porous Cylinders

Under the assumption of potential flow and linear wave theory, thediffraction in each fluid region is expressed by an eigenfunctionexpansion method. The dynamic response of the offshore platform withN permeable or impermeable for the wave force interaction is examinedby using an eigenfunction expansion method, and the reliabilityevaluation on the offshore platform subjected to wave and seismic forceis carried out using the MCS approach in the present study. It issuggested that the offshore platform with porous cylinders is veryefficient to reduce effects of wave forces and wave run up. It isimportant to verify the response properties of the offshore platformwith uncertainties to dynamic forces and structural properties. In orderto enhance the performance based design of the offshore structure, itwould be important to examine the uncertainty on the random responsesituation due to seismic forces.
