We have successfully developed a 72VDC-2kW Li-ion battery pack, a relevant battery management system and a charging system for lightweight BEV traction system and managed to achieve the targeted performance required for electric scooter. Characteristics are: 1. Battery management system: We proposed CC charging instead of the conventional CC-CV charging and achieved to reduce charging time. We also expect in the improvement on battery life. 2. Definition of OCV: By defining the OCV anew, we achieved to make considerably correct prediction of the capacity. We now aim at further marketability study and in the next year, we are planning to optimize the parameter and bring the electric scooter with the above system on road test to evaluate and verify the following development items: A) Battery temperature inside the pack in summer and winter B) Durability against vibration and issues generated from running C) Effect from the battery voltage equalization D) Accuracy of the SOC meter on running E) Battery life F) Battery pack safety.
