Since current problems including high ash content of flotation clean coal, low ash content of tailing coal, low dewatering efficiency of flotation clean coal, high water content of filter cake and huge power consumption seriously affected the quality of clean coal product and the economic efficiency of enterprise, the recent situation of coal slime flotation and dewatering in China was analyzed; the existing problems of traditional flotation machine were studied; the dewatering difficulty and defects of traditional vacuum filter were also researched; FCMC cyclonic micro-bubble flotation column and fast clean coal filter press were invented and developed. The results show that there is a higher fall in ash content with the use of cyclonic micro-bubble flotation column. The clean coal ash content of flotation column is 1~1.5 percent lower than that of flotation machine under the same feeding condition, while the power consumption of flotation column can be as low as ½~⅔ of that of flotation machine with the same processing capacity. Additionally, the results also demonstrate that there is a higher dewatering efficiency with the utilization of fast clean coal filter press. The decrease in filter cake water content of fast clean coal filter press is 6–9% in comparison with that of vacuum filter press under the same feeding condition. Meanwhile, there is a saving of 60–70% in power consumption of fast clean coal filter press in contrast to the vacuum filter press with the same processing capacity. Moreover, the combination technology of flotation column and fast clean coal filter press has quite a lot of advantages—such as advanced technical parameters, smaller power consumption, significant energy saving, little maintenance and reliable and stable operation. Therefore, the combination usage of FCMC cyclonic micro-bubble flotation column and fast clean coal filter press is the optimum selection for coal slime flotation and dewatering of flotation clean coal and holds a beautiful and broad application prospect.
