摘要

Image edge detection is important part of image processing, edge detection of colour image is more and more widely studied. Based on dimensional reduction model of RGB space, six structural elements are constructed according to mathematical morphology, and traditional morphological gradient operator of grey-level image is improved to detect edge of colour image. Through experiment, it is proved that compared with traditional edge detection operator, the method has strong antinoise ability, furthermore, it can effectively keep information and characteristic of original image and detect detail edges of colour image. In the end of the paper, shortcoming of the method is discussed and next research direction is presented.
