摘要

With the development of computer network technology, research in Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) systems is becoming popular. CSCW has the potential of providing the environment needed for groups of diverse users to cooperate in order to achieve their common goals. Our current research has mainly focused on those extensions to a 4DSMM (4D Site Management Model) concept necessary to provide a wider scope that also allows cooperative work and information sharing by Internet for different project teams, and the development of a new experimental system. This paper presents a new 4D-CSCW model for construction management through integrating CSCW technology with the existing 4DSMM, and discusses the features of this newly extended model based on studying the cooperative work and communication methods of construction management and the regulation of data flow in construction process. The techniques for applying the model in construction management practice are then described.
