摘要

In this study, an investigation on the rainwater catchment systems for domestic supply and commercial supply were conducted for Hong Kong Conditions. The focus of this study is the water and energy conservation of rainwater collection on building roofs in Hong Kong. The amount of rainwater supply mainly depends on the amount of rainfall, the collection area (i.e. normally roof area), runoff coefficient and the size of collection tank. The main parameters and their relationships have been established to estimate the amount of rainwater collected in different roof areas and different sizes of tanks based on the amount of rainfall recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory. The investigations of the supply and utilization of rainwater for different types of buildings such as residential, commercial and other developments were made. The results of the investigations such as supply, the demand of flushing, feasibility, reliability and energy saving of using rainwater supply are summarised in this paper.
