摘要

This note is devoted to the problem of controlling an exothermic batch reactor using a fuzzy technique. It is well known that the underlying process shows a high non-linearity caused specially by the reaction heat, due to the exothermic reaction property, added to the heating source. Hence, in order to avoid a dramatic consequence, the cooling phase must start at the right moment. In this paper, we propose a method to build a fuzzy controller which handles both phases heating and cooling, and which pi-lotes the switching from the heating phase to the cooling one. Its parameters are based on physical meaningful informations coming from the underlying process.
