摘要

Products are the centre of company business and development. Many scholars and practitioners have been making great efforts to explore the ways how to conceive, design, produce and market a new product efficiently. Some subjects about product such as product management, value analysis. Optimum design, CAD-CAM-MIS, industrial engineering, quality control, technological economics, and marketing, have been established. These theories, which have different contents, many study some periods or some aspects of product development respectively. They have played an important role in promoting the development of products and realizing the goals of company. However, rapid technological progress, changeful market demands, keen competition and sophisticated processes make the problem of product development become more and more complex. All factors related to product constitute an integrated and inseparable system of product growth. In such a multi-dimensional system, product has itself patterns and principles of development. In order to ensure successful development and management of product, it is necessary to take the process of product growth as a whole and follow systematic principles and systematic procedures throughout product life cycle. That is why PE is set up.
