The effect of ozonization on the indoor formaldehyde removal in a room was investigated. The experimental results showed that the formaldehyde could be removed by more than 17% in the condition that initial formaldehyde concentration was 0.50~0.60 mg/m~3. If the formaldehyde release from the artificial board was in the range of 3.92~7.52 mg/m~2·s, the removal rate was more than 13%. The chemical reaction of formaldehyde with ozone was also discussed. On the basis of the experimental results and analyses, it was concluded that ozonization was not effective in formaldehyde removal through releasing ozone into the room.
