摘要

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) is an elastic wave in solid shallow surface propagation. The sensors based on the SAW show the properties of micromation, integrated, passive, low cost, low power frequency and directly signal output. In this paper, a review of the operation mode and operating principle of SAW sensors has been presented in detail. Besides, a differential SAW sensor has been designed to improve the measurement accuracy. At the same time, the application of SAW sensors concerning the field of electrical equipment, train and humidity detecting have also been discussed. Finally, an outlook of this field is briefly discussed.
