Recent advances in wireless communication have evolved the construction of ad hoc wireless networks including sensor networks. In many ubiquitous computing applications, such as smart classrooms, hospitals, construction sites, stadiums, shopping malls, emergency services, law- enforcement, convention centers, battlefields, and inhospitable physical environments, monitoring ad hoc wireless networks is needed. Monitoring involves distribution of data from one or more devices to a set of devices including the detection of abnormal conditions. Data distribution plays a major role in monitoring any ad hoc wireless network. In this paper, an approach for monitoring ad-hoc networks has been presented. A tool has developed to simulate data distribution protocols for monitoring ad hoc networks. Simulation results have been presented in this paper.
