Wireless networks are convenient for certain control applications, however, the increased signal delay and corruption can lead to performance degradation or failure. In this paper we describe a test platform created for investigating these issues and testing strategies for improving control over wireless networks. This system is implemented using Teja Technology''s Teja NP™software package. We will briefly describe Teja and its benefits for use in simulation and implementation of control systems. Using data from this test platform we observe the relation between signal strength, packet loss, and control performance. We also implement a simplified version of a delay-compensating controller and validate its performance advantages over a non-compensating controller.
