The Leaderman model was used to describe the nonlinear creep behaviour of HDPE and implemented into the FEM package MARC. A numerical integration method was developed that combines the speed of the explicit method and the stability of the implicit method. The vis-coelastic response of an HDPE bottle crate was calculated successfully with this integration method. No numerical instabilities were encountered.
