Pointing to the problem that a large amount of braking energy is lost during the working process of existing hydraulic slewing system with a large inertia load, the drawback of the existing hydraulic slewing system is analyzed and a new-type hydraulic slewing system is advanced in the paper. The new-type hydraulic slewing system can recover the braking energy of the hydraulic slewing system. The energy-saving principle of the new-type hydraulic slewing system is presents and the design parameters of the system are analyzed. Final the results of the computer simulation and experiment of the new-type system are given. This study demonstrates that new-type hydraulic slewing system gains about 30% energy in its working process.
