摘要

Check dams or known as sabo dams as well as groundsills have been considered as the standard practices in stream training and management in Taiwan. The installation of groundsills often follows the same design criterion of check dams; regardless their different characteristics geometrically and hydraulically. Hence, the objective of this study is to identify the suitable installation interval between groundsills through indoor hydraulic experiments for various stream widths, flow rates, channel slopes, and sediment sizes. An empirical equation was obtained and assessed results were used to compare with outdoor-regulated channel reach.
