摘要

Low temperature nitriding has emerged recently as a means of improving the wear and corrosion properties of austenitic stainless steel. In this study, two kind of steel, P900N Mo and X3MnCrNiMo16-16-16-4, were ion-nitrided at 673 K. The nitrided layers that formed on the steel specimens were investigated through XRD, GDOES, optical microstructure tests and hardness tests. The nitrided layers of the two different steels showed similar nitrogen distribution profiles and hardness results. However, the nitrided layers on the P900N Mo steel demonstrated higher ductility than the layer on the X3MnCrNiMo16-16-16-4 steel.
